Iceberg lettuce

Iceberg lettuce

Details

We grow iceberg lettuce in the open all year around. It is hand picked every day to ensure fresh produce. Bagged and tagged out in the field, the lettuce is vacuum chilled right after harvest to prolong the shelf life and to guarantee the best quality.

Besides bagging lettuce we also supply our customers with loose lettuce, which leaves a nice frame of leaves around the head.

Known for its crispiness that it adds to salads and sandwiches, iceberg lettuce became indispensable in healthy kitchens around the world. Especially for those who want to lose weight, iceberg lettuce seems to be a good option due to its very high water and low calorie content.

Did you know that the name ‘iceberg’ originates from the method of transport back in the days? In order to keep the lettuces fresh when transporting it across the country they would pack them in piles of ice to keep them cool.

Broccoli

Broccoli

Details

Originally from Italy, broccoli is now one of the best-known “brassica” vegetables. It is enjoyed worldwide and used in many different kinds of cuisine.

The nutritional value is exceptional as it is high in vitamin K and C and a great source of beta-carotene. Broccoli also provides fibre and is low in calories.

We grow and harvest broccoli all year around. To ensure quality and freshness we vacuum chill the produce post harvest. This keeps the broccoli firm, tasty and prolongs the shelf life tremendously.

Whether raw, cooked or steamed – this is one of the healthiest and most delicious vegetables out there. In case you didn’t know, every part of the broccoli is edible even the stems and leaves. Try it!
